Two Hundred and Ten Years Ago Today …

… the Swansea and Mumbles Railway became the world’s first fare-paying passenger railway. Starting out as horse-powered, it converted to steam locomotion and finally to electric trams (before being replaced in 1960 by motor buses. So sad. it was the world’s longest serving railway at the time of closure.)

Those were the good ol’ days …
